Forrest to Donate Painting to Cheyenne Safehouse

Forrest getting started on
Forrest getting started on "The Battered Bride"
Over a year ago, Forrest was inspired to do something special with his art to impact his community. Wyoming has the weakest domestic violence laws of any state, and assault on women by their spouses is not treated as harshly as it should. Forrest has had talks with the Safehouse about doing a painting for some time now, but they lacked the funds to commission him. Now, with Forrest's recent commission by the city for the Wall Project, he has decided to do the painting for free so that the Safehouse can raise awareness, and hopefully raise funds as well.
The painting will be a staggering 36x48 inches, depicting what Forrest calls "The Battered Bride"; "A woman posing for a wedding picture in her dress, but she has a black eye and a fat lip. I want this to speak to women who use marriage as an excuse to endure domestic violence. Marriage should never be used as an excuse. The man has been unfaithful, and she should leave with the kids, get the hell out."
The painting will hopefully be used in billboard ads, and displayed during legislature to help motivate stricter laws against domestic violence offenders.
