Q: How long does it take Forrest to complete a painting?
A: That depends greatly on the painting. On average Forrest will spend a minimum of 18 hours on a painting. Some take only a few hours, while others can take 30 hours or more.
Q: What is Forrest's technique?
A: Forrest uses a traditional approach to oil painting he learned while in school, but with a twist. Instead of harsh strokes he prefers using a blending technique he developed himself, which is what gives his paintings such a soft feel and smooth transition of color.
Q: Will Forrest paint me something?
A: Yes. Forrest enjoys doing commissioned paintings and murals for his various clients. Whether you need a family portrait or mural for your home or business, contact Forrest with your request.
Q: How much will it cost?
A: Forrest determines price on a project to project basis. What usually happens is he will set up an appointment with you for a free consultation. If a price can be agreed on for the work then he has you sign a contract and requests half of the payment before starting work.
Q: Can I buy some of Forrest's original work?
A: Forrest's original paintings are only available at his shows. Keep an eye in the news section for show dates and times. For the quickest info, email him and he will add you to his mailing list. If you are far away, you can always order a giclee from the store.
Q: Can I model for one of Forrest's paintings?
A: Forrest is always on the look-out for models of all types to use as reference for his work. If you are interested, contact Forrest through the contact page. He will then request pictures of your face and a full body shot. If he needs you, you will be contacted.
Q: Why is shipping on prints so expensive and why does it take so long to receive them?
A: Forrest does not keep a "stock" of prints available, they are ordered on a per-order basis. Upon purchase, the prints are ordered, shipped to Forrest's studio where he inspects them for quality and signs them if applicable, and then they are mailed to you. The shipping cost covers transit to the studio and then to you.
