The Pink Triangle
-Coming Soon-

Keep an eye out for sneak peeks of this line at Forrest's shows!

"I started thinking about doing this line of paintings after watching "Boys Don't Cry", a very important movie for you to see if you haven't! What inspired me was the deep, passionate, pure love that was shared between the woman and the trans-man. It was simply beautiful and brought a tear to my eye.

While my focus for now is on the Lesbian community, I am planning on branching out with works that will communicate the civil rights struggle in America today.

I want to coordinate with an LGBT organization and have a large exhibition event/ party to sell off the paintings as well as more affordable prints. 40% of the profits will be given to the LGBT community for awareness education and the fight for equal rights." -Forrest King

With this piece, the pink triangle moves from the beauty of lesbian love to the difficulty of lesbian love in a conservative society. The duct tape is a symbol of protest against proposition 8 in California, which voided same sex marriages. This painting represents the modern day discrimination against the gay community, the pain that hate causes. For more info on prop 8, visit www.noh8campaign.com
